A seminar was held at Comrat State University as part of the international UNI HEALTH project.
On October 17, 2024, at Comrat State University, the UNI HEALTH project team – Academic Partnership for Improving the Health of Young People with Health Problems and Special Needs (KA 220-HED-47/05-10-2023) organized and conducted a seminar on the topic “Organization of student focus group activities within the framework of an international project.” Students representing all faculties of the university took part in the seminar. Most of the participating students formed a focus group that was actively involved in the implementation of the project tasks. Based on the results of a survey conducted among students to identify problematic aspects of their health, a target group of 15 people was formed. The purpose of the meeting was to summarize the results of the first stage of the UNI HEALTH project and to familiarize students with the program of upcoming classes, including a series of psychological training sessions and physical education and health activities. The project coordinator, Dr. O.V. Kurteva, presented the main goals and objectives of the project, noting the results already achieved during the first stage of its implementation and the immediate prospects. Members of the working group, university assistant L.Yu. Ibrishim and lecturer S.G. Kucheryanu, presented the results of a study on the psychological state of students and their willingness to participate in the project. Training programs to increase the stress resistance of project participants were presented. Doctor, university lecturer A.G. Polevaya-Sekeryanu, a member of the working group, presented a program to increase the level of physical activity of students aged 17 to 25 with health impairments and special needs. The program aims to improve the physical and mental health of students and includes wellness practices such as breathing exercises, wushu exercises, and martial arts, as well as regular monitoring of participants’ health. Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations at KSU, Doctor, University Lecturer S.I. Genova emphasized the importance and relevance of this international project for improving the health of young students. Concluding the seminar, O.V. Kurteva, institutional coordinator of the project, expressed her gratitude to the participants and outlined plans for the further development of the UNI HEALTH project, aimed at providing comprehensive support to students with special needs.
